Ohio Star Quilter’s Newsletter September 2007
The
September meting is coming up on the 26th. Plan on attending
as we will have as a guest speaker Maggie Marconi from the Sandusky
Library . Her topic will be “Quilts of the
Firelands”. Should be
an interesting program.
I hope by
now that all of you who received a wool core and the roving for the
pincushion at the August meeting have completed the project. Everyone
should have something for Show and Tell. That is always a fun part of
the meeting. The project does not have to be a work of art or really
grand to share. Most of us are just ordinary quilters who often make
mistakes, so no one should be intimidated to share their work.
A great
opportunity for sharing your work is the challenge set forth for this
year. Three purples and a curve and one additional color is the
criteria. Put your thinking hats on and come up with a project that
qualifies.
For those
of you who remember a former member, Diane Eaton, she has had some
serious health problems, and I know she would enjoy hearing from you. On
the same note, Mary Widmer had successful knee surgery, and will soon be
back making quilts.
Just had a
wonderful report on the Mystery Trip. Sharon Knoop shared her day with
me, and had great praise for the work of the committee. Said everything
was perfect, except she did not win the prize for spending the most
money. And I’ll let you guess who did!!! Thanks to Peggy Horgan and
her committee for making it a grand day for those who were able to
attend.
Take care,
keep sewing, and plan on being at the meeting on the 26th.
