Hello quilt friends,
The calendar says it's October
21st but today it felt more like July 21st! What a beautiful
sunshine filled day. For those of you waiting for an excuse to stay
indoors to start those Christmas projects, you may be in trouble.
We welcome another new member,
Peggy Waddington from
Huron, Ohio. With lots of new members and faces to put names
to, at the last meeting everyone stood as their name was called
during Roll Call. I'd like to suggest we continue doing that so we
can become better acquainted.
We learned about the historic
Follett House in
Sandusky and the antique quilts on display there along with
some history about their makers.
Wednesday, October 24th the
program will be presented by Jennifer McCann from Columbus who will
be talking about Value and Color. Hostesses for that meeting are
Barb Hanny, Connie Starnes, Gizella Lukac and Hazel Kohlbarger.
Connie was a multiple winner at the Apple Festival in Oak Harbor so
I feel we will be in for some delicious treats.
Although the group is
dwindling, the die-hards are still stitching on their Christmas
stocking. November will be the last stitch taught. Thanks to all
who taught, Beth Jadwisiak, Pat Jones, CeCe Henry.
Thirteen people signed up for
the new block exchange group. If you are interested in being part
of the group, you have one more chance to do it at the October
meeting. If you can't attend and wish to take part, let me know
since we will be drawing names for the rotation at this meeting.
The first person will give out their block in January.
The Special Events Committee
wants everyone to know the Christmas party will be held at Avery's
in Marblehead on Rt. 163. on December 5th. You will need to make a
decision about the menu and pay $18 by the November, 28th
meeting. All attendees are asked to bring a donation for the Holiday
Bureau in the form of gloves, mittens, scarves etc in any size
children-adult.
The Show Committee is off and
running preparing for our bi-annual quilt show to be held in July.
Here is a chance to show the community what talent we have. ( And by
the last show and tell, I can say we have plenty!)
See you Wednesday,
Susan Koblin, co-president
