If you weren't
dazzled by the gorgeous jackets Pat Krebs of Huron displayed at the
trunk show she gave at our November meeting, you had to be sleeping
through it. How lucky Penny Groscost is to own one of Pat's
one-of-a-kind creations!
The
workshop committee is considering Pat for a future workshop and will be
asking for your input at the January meeting. Other options will be
presented at that time also. This is your chance to cast a vote so
hopefully everyone will be recovered from the holidays and can attend.
The workshop will be held sometime this summer so our "snowbirds" will
not be shut out.
Congratulations to Charlotte McNenery who was the champion raffle ticket
saleswoman. Thanks again also to Jan Foard and the Nautical Needles
staff for selling so many tickets.
A
reminder that $15 dues are due in January. At the January meeting we
will also be testing a microphone system to enable speaker to be heard
by all.
Sandy Erwin's new grandson received one of our Stim quilts and she
reports "he loves it!" I wonder how she knows since he is only two
months old.
Two
more members received their lovely silver bracelets for completing the
guild's silver challenge. Nice work Dee Masing and Jackie Ziegler.
Virginia Oglesbee brought along a poster-sized photograph of the
guild's 1992 raffle quilt. What a contrast to this year's quilt. Look
how far we've come!!
Put
your glad rags on and we'll have some fun at the Christmas party at the
Victorian Inn Wednesday, December 6th at 6:00 pm. Remember to bring a
scarf, mittens, gloves, or cap for charity. We also will be excepting
canned goods, non-perishables, and paper products to donate to the
Holiday Bureau.
Once
more, we have a recipe request. This time for the delicious pumpkin
dish served at the November meeting.
Great Pumpkin Dessert
1
can (15 oz) solid-pack pumpkin
1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
4 t pumpkin pie spice
1 package (18-1/4 oz) yellow cake mix
3/4 cup butter, melted
1-1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
In a
mixing bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Transfer to a greased
13 X 9 X 2 baking pan. Sprinkle with dry cake mix and drizzle with
butter. Top with walnuts. Bake at 350• for 1 hour. Serve the dessert
warmed and top with ice cream or whipped cream. Yield: 12-16
servings. (We won't divulge the calorie count!)
Wishing you all a very merry Christmas,
Sue
