NEWSLETTER  May 2006

WOW                   It’s over. The first meeting of the 2006-2007 quilt  year!

WOW              It was a good beginning—no one chafed over their assignment(s) for the next year. In fact, Jacki Zeigler volunteered for the Historian’s position which was vacant.

WOW                    Penny Groscost, who will head the committee for Website Development had Jo Coon and Cathi Dix volunteer to help Visit
http://www.k-msystems.com/~testsite/index.htm for a look see

WOW                    The Stim Quilt Committee is on a roll. Be prepared to work at the May meeting. This is a community service project and fills a real need.

WOW                    The mini-appliqué class will start again. Same procedure-$5.00 for supplies, class size limited to 10. Call or e-mail me—the first 10 to respond will fill the seats. Classes will begin in May.

WOW                    Quilt block exchange had a good response. Those interested in participating can put their names in the pot to participate in a monthly block construction for a fellow quilter. Maybe you will be the one who gets the first slot! Or even the last place, but think of all the practice the participating quilters will have!

WOW                    The Challenge Committee for 2006-2007 is on its toes! Silver is the key word with the Ohio Star Logo included. Take your pick-quilt, pillow, clothing, or use your imagination. Let’s go beyond the 20 who got yo-yo’s for their finished project in 2005-6. Those who meet the challenge for this new  year will wear a SILVER bracelet!

WOW                    Show and Tell-What talent we have in our group. Phyllis Coats displayed a baby quilt for a new grandchild, Jo Coon was wearing a bright blue jacket constructed over a sweatshirt, and

WOW                    The Quilt Show Committee is hard at work on the upcoming show on July 21 and 22. Let Mary Hetrick know what you will be entering. Wouldn’t it be great to have 100% participation?

WOW                    The golf cart is out of storage and ready to be decorated and to roll in the 4th of July parade.

Thanks, Jan

WOW WOW WOW
