The holidays are over, on to January and quilting
time. Hooray!
Remember that the Ohio Star Quilters Guild has a Penny Haren Pieced
Applique workshop on Saturday, February 28th. For the workshop you
need a copy of her book, Penny Haren's Pieced Applique,
and a 6 1/2" square ruler. Thinking that some of you might be
having trouble finding the book and/or the ruler and/or the
expense might be holding you back, I am offering to order them for
you at a discount price. If you are interested, let me know. Also, if
you see Debbie Beaulieu, Kathleen Giesler, Terrie Johnson, Gizella
Lukac, Bobbie Sorg, or Mary Widmer, let them know of this offer since
they do not have email.
$20 for Penny Haren's Pieced Applique
$11 for the 6 1/2" Creative Grids Square It Up Ruler
(Prices include sales tax.)
I'll place the order after our next OSQG meeting, Wednesday, January
28, and in time to get the books and rulers before our February
meeting.
Other sources that might be more convenient for you include your local
quilt shop and Amazon.com.
For those of you who have Penny's first book and were looking forward
to the second, Penny Haren's Pieced Applique, More Blocks &
Projects, shows up on the wholesaler's website as being in print.
Also, remember there is a Mystery Workshop on Saturday,
January 24th, at the Port Clinton Library. Contact a member of the
Workshop Committee, Beth Jadwisiak, Kim Hirt, Penny Groscost-Solem,
Mary Ann Fitz, or Peggy Waddington, if you need more information.
Finally, the information for classes, lectures, etc. for the June
18-20 NQA show in Columbus, OH is available at www.nqaquilts.org
Happy Quilting,
