The July Picnic was fantastic!!!  Kudos to all on the Special Events Committee for a fun-filled evening at the Veteran’s Memorial Park in Oak Harbor .  There were 38 members present for the festivities.  The evening had a Patriotic theme and the shelter house was bedecked with red, white and blue. We were told to bring 1 yard of ugly fabric (and I might add, there were some REALLY ugly fabrics living at some of your houses!) and by the end of the evening, we each had smaller pieces of ugly fabrics to take home!  We took some quizzes to find out how “Quilty” we were and to see how much of our Ohio and United States history we have forgotten over the years.

Charlotte McNerney received her completed blocks back from the block exchange and Jo Coon passed hers out. Jo asked that I ask each of you if you saw a Ziploc bag with fabric in it after the meeting in June.  She lost her block for Charlotte somewhere between the church and home, and was wondering if someone picked up an extra one.

There will be a limited supply of OSQG Quilt Show CD’s available at the August and September meetings.  The cost is $8.00 for members and $10.00 for nonmembers.

Bonnie Legg and De Masing have asked that someone else take over the raffle quilt until it is raffled off in October.  This is a Guild problem and will need the Guild to make some important changes in the way the raffle quilt is handled from now on.  So please put on your thinking caps and have some ideas ready for discussion at the August meeting. 

Also, Jacki Zeigler has asked to be replaced on the Publicity Committee and as guild Historian due to health problems.  Please consider volunteering to take over one of these important jobs.
