The March meeting was so much fun……we ate and ate and ate…then played some games and then had a very industrious meeting.  Thanks to the Special Events Committee for the good time had by all.

In February, we had election of officers.  Our new Vice President is Polly Stuckman and our new Secretary is Sandy Sedlmeier.  We also signed up for committees and hostesses for the next year, so if you have not had the opportunity yet, please get signed up ASAP.  This guild needs EACH and EVERY member to do her share.  We are asking that you only sign up for one committee until all have had a chance to get their name on the sign-up sheets.  If you have not paid your dues, please take care of that at the April meeting. Dues are $30.00.

If you made a Grandmother’s Garden block for the fundraiser quilt, be sure you also turn in a 2x10 strip of the matching material for the sashing.  Also the old fundraising committee wants to know if we want to sell the quilt at the next quilt show OR raffle it for 2-3 months.  Think about it and we’ll decide at the April meeting.

We have several new addenda for the Guild by-laws:

Addendum 1

The treasurer along with the other officers of the Ohio Star Quilters Guild shall prepare and present a budget to guild members on a yearly basis.  The budget shall be presented to guild members for their approval at the May meeting.

Addendum 2

An audit of the treasurer’s books be conducted two months prior to the election of a Treasurer in the even numbered years.

a)     The audit will be a function of the By Laws/Nominating Committee.

In order to present the budget by the May meeting, we are asking all committees to submit a budget request of funds by the April meeting.  The officers cannot make a budget without knowing the needs of all the committees.  Then we will take that information and look at our funds and anticipated income and expenses and submit a budget proposal back to the guild in May.

We are also attempting to update the Roster book for the new year and need to know of any changes to names, addresses, phone #’s, email addresses, birthdays or anniversaries.  Please email any changes to me at kahirt@yahoo.com.
