Ohio Star Quilter’s # 131
What a
productive meeting we had in April. Our good will effort of making Stim
Quilts for the children of Ottawa County was a huge success. Thanks to
the organizing efforts of Bonnie Legg, Donna DiCarlo and De Masing,
everything worked and at the end of the evening 6 completed packets had
been assembled, a great many blocks cut , sewn, and appliquéd for
additional quilts to be made. Anyone who can sew, can take home a kit to
assemble into the top, and then pass it on if machine quilting is not in
your experience, and then someone else puts on the binding. For those
of you who need practice in machine quilting, this is an absolutely
wonderful chance to improve your skill, as these babies are
non-judgmental! Thanks everyone for your participation in a worthwhile
cause.
Sandy Erwin
announced that our very own quilt show will be July 18-19, 2008..
SAILING THROUGH THE RAINBOW is the theme, chosen by our very own
celebrity member Mary Adams. All of you should plan on contributing to
the display during the show. And one perfectly good way is to meet
the challenge for 2007-8
.
Sue Haering and her committee introduced the challenge-Three purples and
a curve., with one additional color added. She had some wonderful
examples, so you will be hearing more about that from the committee at
future meetings.
With the continued lack of mail being sent
through the PO Box, a show of hands supported the closing of the box,
with a refund from USPS for the rental. Our website will be the contact
for guild business.
You should receive information forwarded from

flowers!
