OHIO
STAR QUILT GUILD # 13
JANUARY 2008
HAPPY NEW YEAR HAPPY NEW YEAR HAPPY NEW
YEAR HAPPY NEW YEAR
What a great way to start the New
Year..One whole day puzzling about that new mystery quilt as we gathered
at the Port Clinton Library. The doors opened at 9:30, machines were set
up, and then the fun began. Oh my stars and garters!!! Thanks to
Sue, Carol, and Barb, it was a day of learning several new
shortcuts in making a block. And one of great fellowship. Thank you for
making it a great day.
This
wonderful beginning for 2008 followed a great Christmas party that
concluded 2007. And with new officers slated for the next year, I
promise you that it will be bigger and better.
Just
a reminder..dues can be paid to Sandy Erwin beginning in Jan. They must
be paid by March or your personal information will not be included in
the guild booklet.
Also, slips will be passed around confirming your personal information
for the new book.
An
information sheet for committees and their responsibilities will be
available. This should make your choice for service easier. Sign-up
sheets for your choice(s) will be available. If you do not choose, then
assignments will be made. Everyone needs to participate. Participation
has many benefits!
We
have a quilter from
Oregon coming April 11th for a lecture and class.
Housing is needed for the 10th and the 11th. She
asks there be no dogs, and food must be lactose free. Call Sue if you
are willing.
Congratulations to Penny upon her marriage to Chester Solem. That’s why
she missed the Christmas party! She has asked to be relieved of her
responsibility as web-coordinator. Is there someone willing to fill her
shoes? Contact Penny if you need more information regarding this
responsibility.
I am sorry to pass the news
that Carol Swope’s mother passed away in
Florida last week. Many of you knew her as she lived in
Port Clinton for a time.
