Oh,
the circles on the quilt go round and round, round and round, round and
round, oh the circles on the quilt go round and round, with help from
Kathy Shaker!
Wasn’t it a fun way to spend an evening
of viewing and a few hours on Saturday to learn the secrets of making
wacky doodle blocks?. Those of you who participated came home with
great beginnings of a super-charged quilt. And both Kim Hirt and I were
the lucky recipients of blocks made by fellow classmates. Lucky De came
home Friday evening with the tote bag, a gift from Wendy Hill, the
author of the book CURVES. Thanks to the committee-Sue Koblin, Barb
Hanny, and Carol Swope for the planning and execution of a wonderful
workshop.
The meeting in April will introduce
Carol Swope and Kim Hirt as the new co-presidents. Be sure to welcome
them, and if you have any suggestions as to what you would like to see
the guild members accomplish in the next few years, be sure to share
your ideas with them.
The April meeting will be spent
cutting, assembling, and embroidering STIM quilts for the Ottawa County
Board BMR. Approximately 20 quilts per year are needed for this
organization. If you cannot remember what you volunteered to do at the
meeting, check with Bonnie Legg. Cutting boards, rotary cutters, irons
and ironing boards, and sewing machines are the needed items. All fabric
will be furnished. All that is needed is a bit of your time and
talent. A good service project!
Hostesses for April are Sally Walter,
Mary Willson, Sandy Erwin, and Jackie Zeigler.
Celebrating April birthdays are Mary
Hetrick 4/23, Donna Sijan 4/24, Mary Widmer, 4/25 And an anniversary
will be celebrated by Leona Newsome 4/3. Since I have turned all of my
books over to the new officers, I hope that I didn’t miss anyone. And
if I did, have a Happy Whatever!
Having been honored to serve as your
co-president for the last two years, I want to say a big thank you for
all of the fun I have had. It has been a pleasure to count you as my
friends. Best of luck to the new officers.
