- How did you get started in
quilting?
I started quilting with my grandmother and
her sisters. They helped me make my first tiny little baby quilt and I
still have it! When I was in high school I bought off the bargain table
a quilting book classic, The Romance of the Patchwork Quilt in
America by Carrie Hall and Rose Kretsinger for $2.98. I took my
first quit class in 1980.

most proud of?

my children

that I actually finished something
- Have you ever put one of your
quilted pieces in a quilt show?
Yes – a show in the mid 80s – it was a
challenge project with a quilting group I belonged to in Columbus. I
also entered a piece in the NQA Show in 2006.

Not enough tiem – lack of knowledge -
perseverance. The more you learn the more creative you can be.

disaster?
All my unfinished projects – other than
that I am pretty happy with anything I have done
- Which quilter’s work do you
most admire and why?
I love all kinds of quilting – I guess
anybody who finishes their projects.
Alex Anderson – not necessarily for her
quilting ability but for her desire to get people interested in quilting
and promoting quilting in general.

someone starting out in quilting?
- buy quality fabric
- buy good tools
- take a beginning quilt
class from a local quilt shop
- get to know other quilters
in your area and learn from them
