  1. How did you get started in quilting?

I’ve been sewing clothes for the kids and the home for years.  I also worked for JoAnn Fabric for 10 years in Philadelphia and my boss at JoAnn Fabric was a quilter.  So now I am a quilter.

  1. What accomplishments are you most proud of?

I have the ability to try something new.

  1. Have you ever put one of your quilted pieces in a quilt show?

Not in a juried show.  I am too afraid and intimidated.  There is a long arm quilters’ show in Kansas City called the “Machine Quilters Showcase” and I may enter that show.  As you know I am a long arm quilter and I think I am ready for that.

  1. Finish these sentences:
    • I still can’t get the hang of . . . color combinations.  I still question my color combinations.
    • The biggest enemy of creativity is . . Lack of confidence – not sure that is the right word.  Oh – I don’t know!
  1. What was your worst quilting disaster?

Oh, my very first project. I made a king size lone star quilt and I ended up with one extra point on the star.  And the funniest part was it still laid flat with one extra point ! ! !  Am I good or what?!

  1. Which quilter’s work do you most admire and why?

Dedrick __________ - she is a Tahitian quilter.  I can’t remember her last name right nowShe is wonderful!

  1. What creative endeavor do you plan to learn next?

I plan to become a “Master Appliquer”.  Won’t that surprise people!

  1. What advice would you give to someone starting out in quilting?

Just try things – whatever you want – just go for it.  It will work!
